The Township of Tyendinaga is located in the most southeasterly corner of Hastings County and approximately 10 km east of the City of Belleville. Tyendinaga Township is a growing community with a population of approximately 4,538 and an area of 73,000 acres. With a rich history and impressive community spirit Tyendinaga Township truly embodies their motto “Rural Living At Its Best”.
Along with the Salmon River, several parallel streams with their tributaries run the whole width of the Township. Also, the Moira River crosses the northwest corner of the Township. Nestled throughout the picturesque countryside and hamlets such as Lonsdale, Marysville, Roslin, Blessington, Read, Milltown and Shannonville, which portray the quiet rural-residential atmosphere that the Township offers. Also located throughout the Township, visitors will find numerous antiques, crafts, and pottery shops. Although primarily agricultural in nature, the Township, with its many rivers and streams and abundance of forest lands, is a most attractive location for sport fishermen and outdoors people.

At Lock 11/12 on the Trent-Severn Waterway, Campbellford’s downtown is the largest commercial area between Belleville and Peterborough. The Trent River running through it charmingly creates natural east and west boundaries to the downtown area. The diverse retail offerings of clothing boutiques, gift and home décor, specialty food, groceries, and eateries, are supported by robust professional and community services, that make downtown a pleasurable and convenient destination for an easy pace of life. Campbellford offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nestled in the heart of Hastings County lies the unique community of Centre Hastings with a population of 4,801 residents spread out over 222 sq. km. In 1998 the Urban (Madoc Village) and the Rural (Huntingdon Township) amalgamated to form the Municipality of Centre Hastings.
Boasting a rural, urban and recreation setting the municipality offers many features for residents and visitors. Among the inviting amenities is the Centre Hastings Park, that is home to the widely known Skate Park. In addition there are many other recreational features throughout the Municipality from South to North. Many family farms still exist in the rural setting of the Municipality along with modernized farming. The various farming elements consist of dairy, beef, sheep, pigs along with hobby farms.
Centre Hastings is the home of Moira Lake that is a popular spot to local and foreign visitors for Muskie, Bass and Pickerel fishing. The park and boat launch is undergoing major upgrades by the local Kiwanis club, High School and volunteers. In a small urban setting the village offers a variety of shops and services. One of the major services provided is the Tri Area Medical Centre.
The Municipality of Marmora and Lake is a beautiful little municipality, part of Hastings County and located in central southern Ontario. It is equidistant from Ottawa and Toronto and the main village is located along Hwy 7, a major transportation route for trucks and vehicles traveling to and through those destinations. The largest village, Marmora, is surrounded by water from Crowe River, Crowe Lake and Beaver Creek.
Marmora and Lake will continue to be a small thriving Municipality in Ontario; a desirable place to work, live, vacation, and retire; by providing a clean natural environment, varied sources of recreation, excellent services and reasonable taxes.
